The Student Scientific Society of Imaging in Matanzas: A New Opportunity to Bring Research to the Undergraduate Level

The article discusses the establishment of the Student Scientific Society of Imaging in Matanzas, founded on October 29, 2024, in honor of Dr. Esperanza Barroso García. This initiative, driven by the Matanzas Chapter of the Cuban Society of Imaging and the University of Medical Sciences of Matanzas, aims to promote research at the undergraduate level. The society, which is voluntary and multidisciplinary, focuses on developing research, continuing medical education, and comprehensive healthcare. Its activities include organizing conferences, workshops, and promoting scientific production among its members. Mentorship by experienced professionals is a key component, although self-learning is also emphasized. The society implements indicators to evaluate its performance, such as the number of completed research projects and awards received. This initiative not only enriches students' academic training but also contributes to the development of essential skills for their future careers.
