Digital Identifier (ORCID)
The Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) is a unique 16-digit code designed to provide researchers with an unambiguous author identifier. Its main objective is to clearly distinguish each researcher's scientific output and avoid confusion arising from the existence of identical or similar names. For this reason, its use has become a mandatory requirement for scientific publications and communications.
ORCID also offers a platform where researchers can register their works and other academic data, which can be shared and linked with other identification systems, such as ResearcherID, ScopusID, Publons, among others. If you have not yet created your ORCID, you can do so at the following link: https://orcid.org/.
It is not enough to have a registration number; it is necessary that the following information also appears in the ORCID profile:
-
Specialty and/or master's degree.
-
Affiliated institution.
-
Province and country.
-
Publications and events in which the researcher has participated.
-
Full names and surnames.
To edit the ORCID record and complete this data, the author must follow the hyperlink sent by ORCID or access the website with their username and password.
Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines will be rejected.
