Research Data Openness Policy

Revista MedEst actively encourages the openness of research data as an essential part of scientific transparency and credibility. Therefore, we invite authors to publicly deposit and reference the data used in their studies, so that they can be shared and reused by the academic community.

Supplementary Material

Each research article or brief communication may be accompanied by the analyzed database, which can be attached as supplementary material in editable formats: Excel (.xlsx or .xls) or SPSS (.sav), always at the request of the scientific editor.

Deposit in SciELO Data

Data may have been previously deposited in SciELO Data, an open access repository that, in specific cases (such as proprietary or sensitive data), allows restricting access to certain files. In those cases, although it will not be possible to access or download the files, the dataset metadata will remain visible.

For more information on how to prepare data for deposit, see the:
Guía de preparación de datos de investigación de SciELO Data

Other Accepted Repositories

We recognize that data sharing is not yet a widespread practice and depends on the traditions of each scientific discipline. Therefore, we accept deposits in multiple reference repositories. You can review those accepted by our journal at:

Lista de repositorios para datos de investigaciones

Mandatory Verification

The statement regarding access to research data must be reflected when completing the WAME Manuscript Checklist, which must be filled out and uploaded as a supplementary file during the submission process.
