Digital Preservation Policy
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS systems to create a distributed archive among participating libraries, enabling these institutions to establish permanent journal archives for preservation and restoration purposes.
The LOCKSS (Lots Of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system, developed by Stanford University Libraries in 1999, provides libraries and publishers with open-source, low-cost tools to collect, preserve, and offer their readers access to reliable and persistent digital content. It operates on the principle that "lots of copies keep stuff safe"—meaning multiple copies of documents are stored across geographically dispersed locations to ensure that, even if some are lost or damaged, others will safeguard against permanent loss. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, allowing any corrupted or missing content to be restored using these backups or the journal itself.
